About the workshop

This is not a traditional art class and there is no expectation to create a technically perfect painting. The workshop will be informal, friendly and unhurried.

We will be working with a pre-outlined design that gently guides you through the painting process giving you a clear starting point and gentle structure throughout the evening. Instead of wondering what to paint or worrying about getting proportions and composition right, you can concentrate on something much simpler: choosing your colours, following the image and enjoying the process.

Little by little, section by section, the picture begins to take shape.

You can work at your own pace, concentrate quietly when you feel like it, chat with the people around you, pause for a moment, step back from your painting and then continue. There is no competition and no comparison.

Throughout the evening, we will also include a few gentle, optional activities designed to help you slow down, settle into the creative process and enjoy the experience more fully. These will be simple, relaxed moments woven naturally into the workshop rather than separate exercises, so the evening still remains centred around painting, conversation and enjoying the time together.

You do not need to bring anything with you, all painting materials and equipment will be provided, so you can simply arrive, settle in and enjoy the evening.

We will also have herbal or fruit tea and a few light biscuits or small snacks available during the workshop, giving you a chance to pause, refresh and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

The aim of the evening is not to prove how creative you are, it is to give yourself a few hours in which your hands are busy, your attention has somewhere pleasant to settle and you can enjoy creating something colourful of your own.

You do not need to be an artist

One of the reasons we have chosen this style of painting is because it makes the workshop accessible even to people who normally say “I can't paint.”

You do not need to know how to draw, understand perspective or mix colours like an artist, the structure is already there to support you. If you have painted before, wonderful, if the last time you held a paintbrush was at school, you are just as welcome.

A small-group experience

We deliberately keep this workshop small.

A smaller group allows the evening to feel relaxed and personal rather than like a large class. There is space to settle in, ask questions when you need to and simply enjoy being part of a creative evening with other people.

The workshop is open to both women and men, but please note that the event requires a minimum of 6 participants to go ahead.

Come on your own or come with someone you know, for an evening away from the routine, to play with colour and to focus on one thing at a time and perhaps leave with something more than a finished painting - a few hours during which you were simply able to create, relax and enjoy.

We look forward to welcoming you,
Melinda & Agota ❤️
